Who Can Get Eyelid Surgery?

For surgical procedures like this one, a doctor consultation should be carried out first. If there are no medical problems with the eyelids, you can easily undergo this operation.

At the same time, potential surgical risk factors such as dry eyes, thyroid disease or diabetes are evaluated by the doctor.
The severity and number of any health problems may interfere with eyelid surgery. Smoking increases the risk of surgical complications because wound healing is slowed down in people who smoke. In some patients with goiter, eye protrusion may complicate or hinder surgery.

Eyelid Lift Stages

The eyelid lift has three simple stages:
1. Anesthesia: It is to ensure that the patient is comfortable and does not feel any pain during the operation. The patient is given either local or general anesthesia. Usually, the doctor chooses the best type of anesthesia, which fits the patient.
2. Surgical incision: In general, the incision lines are planned accurately so that the scars can be hidden within the natural lines of the eyelid. For the upper eyelid, the doctor tightens it by making a surgical incision within the natural lines of the eyelid, removing or repositioning the excess fat under the skin, as well as tightening the muscles and getting rid of the sagging skin. For the lower eyelid, the incision is made under the lower lash line to remove or reposition the fat consistently.
3. Incision closing: The incision is closed by stitches, then removed after one week.

When will the result of the operation appear?

The operation is characterized by its continuous results for many years, and swelling and bruising disappear within 10 to 14 days after the operation at the latest, and the scars that appear at the surgical site may take several months to completely disappear.
